The Wittgenstein Centre was represented at this year’s Women for Peace Conference with Waris Dirie in Seefeld/Tyrol. Judith Kohlenberger from the research group “Demography of Austria” presented selected results from the “Displaced Persons in Austria Survey (DiPAS)” and participated in a panel discussion on the special plight of female refugees on their route to safety in Europe. Women for Peace is an initiative of Art of Reconciliation, which organizes international arts, culture and education projects in the field of reconciliation, peace, cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. This year’s key note speakers included UN Special Ambassador and human rights activist Waris Dirie and humanitarian-aid expert and former director of the Zaatari refugee camp Kilian Kleinschmidt.
