Vacant position for a prae doc in ERC project at the University of Vienna

Scientific Staff (prae doc) at the Department of Demography

The Department of Demography, a subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, is looking for a doctoral (preadoc) student who will be part of the ERC consolidator grant team BIC.LATE “Biological, Individual and Contextual factors of fertility recovery”. The doctoral student will particularly focus on the analysis of the individual factors of fertility across ages and over the life course, across country contexts. Excellent quantitative skills as well as a strong interest in the demographic study of fertility will be appreciated.

Applicants should have a clear doctoral intention and demonstrate teamwork and interpersonal skills as well as enthusiasm for excellent research. The preadoc will have the opportunity to conduct scientific research as part of a motivated and committed research team. Duties include participation in the administration of the project.

Start date: as soon as possible
Duration of employment: Until 31.08.2026
Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week
