Ruslan Basyrov is a student research assistant at the University of Vienna. Before studying in the Global Demography Master's program, he finished his Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Social Informatics at the Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg. Furthermore, he pursued education in computer science by spending a semester in the United States at Duke University, taking graduate statistics and computer science graduate courses, and completing training in École 42. His research experience includes working on a COVID-19 excess mortality project using death microdata at the Ministry of Health in Russia and various computer science-related topics.
