About

Tamara Vaz de Moraes Santos is a researcher in the Health and Longevity research group at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. She holds a master's degree in Demography from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil (CEDEPLAR/UFMG), where her dissertation focused on indirect methods to estimate the educational gradient in adult mortality using incomplete data from Brazil. Tamara also participated in the European Doctoral School of Demography, where she explored the heterogeneity of gender disparities in unhealthy life expectancy across European countries through macro-level country indicators. Furthermore, she worked as an individual consultant at the Population Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, assisting with the estimation and projection of demographic components and population.
